The volume of Bahraini investments in Egypt has amounted to $3.2 billion for 216 projects, where the Kingdom ranks 16th in the list of countries with the biggest investment in the Egyptian market.

This was highlighted by Bahrain Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Ambassador Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder, as he participated yesterday in the “Investment Opportunities in the Financial and Banking Sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt Forum,” which was held in Cairo.

The virtual event was organised by the Bahrain Businessmen’s Association in cooperation with the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association. Al Jowder reviewed the other business and trade opportunities between the two sides.

He praised the great efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to attract Bahraini investments to Egypt and highlighted the business environment offered by Bahrain to attract more investments.

The Ambassador said that the rapid growth of the financial banking sector in Bahrain mirrors the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Economic Development Board.

He also noted that the Kingdom has become a regional banking centre that has succeeded in attracting many foreign banking institutions. He added that for more than a century, and since the establishment of the first bank in Bahrain in 1920, the financial and banking sector in the Kingdom has recorded distinct success stories that have set a model for many other countries to follow.
