HM King praised for supporting Bahraini youth’s active participation in nation-building

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has underlined His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision to enhance the Bahraini youth’s active participation in nation-building.

Al Saleh stressed that all concerted efforts undertaken by the executive and legislative branches are a reflection of HM the King’s belief in building youth as the “future force of a nation.”

The Shura head made the remarks yesterday as Shura Council marked the International Day of Parliamentarism which falls on the 30th of June each year, under the title “Say Yes to Youth in Parliament.”

He delivered a speech in which he praised the support of His Majesty to the legislative branch in Bahrain. Al Saleh said that HM the King believes in the important role played by the legislative branch in consolidating the foundations of the democratic process, enhancing the comprehensive development and adopting Bahraini society issues, especially what meets the needs and aspirations of the youth, for a better future.

The Shura head noted that the government, headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, promotes the work of youth and gave them special attention at all levels. He pointed out the most prominent project which is the launch of the National Employment Programme, in order to provide 25,000 jobs and 10,000 training opportunities during 2021.

Cable of congratulations

Also yesterday, HM the King received a cable of congratulations yesterday from Al Saleh on the observance of the global occasion. Al Saleh extended sincere thanks and gratitude to His Majesty for his constant follow-up on the work of the Shura Council in order to achieve the interests of the Bahraini people, and continue the democratic and progress march during his prosperous era.

He asserted that the celebration of the International Day of Parliamentarism is a global recognition of the pivotal role played by parliaments, being among the essential pillars of democracy.

He pledged that the Shura Council will continue assuming its role in strengthening the pillars of democracy, developing policies and legislation that enhance the kingdom’s progress and consolidating the principles of coexistence, tolerance, harmony and love in order to rally ranks, prioritise national interests and meet the aspirations of the Bahraini people. He prayed to Allah the Almighty to bless HM the King with abundant health and Bahrain with ever-lasting progress.
