Ways to develop Muharraq’s cultural infrastructure discussed

President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, today received the Chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council, Ghazi Al-Mirbati, with whom she discussed ways to enhance cooperation in developing the city’s cultural infrastructure.
Shaikha Mai said that the Muharraq city reflects Bahrain’s rich urban and civilisational movement, noting that the Pearling Path site, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is an example of sustainable development projects aimed primarily at developing the local community.
The meeting discussed the latest developments of the Bahrain Pearling Path landmark which BACA seeks to complete by the end of this year, in addition to the revamp of the Shaikh Abdulla Avenue.
Al-Mirbati commended the efforts exerted by BACA to preserve the cultural heritage of the kingdom and its historical cities, stressing the importance of developing the Muharraq City, given its distinguished urban and cultural features.
He expressed his constant readiness to cooperate with BACA to serve its projects in the city.
