Two men jailed for laundering BD46,000 in Bahrain

Two men have been sentenced to seven years behind bars each for laundering BD46,000 in one year. The first defendant was also fined BD8,000 and the court also ordered for confiscation of more than BD24,000 from him.
Meanwhile, the second defendant was also fined BD8,000 and the court ordered for confiscation of more than BD21,000 from him.
The two are said to have generated the money through selling drugs. They made more than BD48,000. Investigations revealed that they requested their customers to transfer money through Benefit Pay. The defendants would demand their customers to pay first before they deliver the drugs.
They would reportedly hide the drugs in a remote place and would send the location to the customer. The pair will be deported from Bahrain once they finish their jail terms.
