Global award for Women’s empowerment

Applications are open for the second round of Princess Sabeeka Bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa’s Global Award for Women Empowerment. The award aims at highlighting the contribution of the public and private sector, civil society and women’s rights champions to worldwide efforts for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls in partnership with UN Women and Bahrain.
It also aims to promote women’s empowerment and equality between men and women, encourage innovative approaches and solutions to achieve women’s empowerment in policy and programming and provide a global space to celebrate these achievements.
The announcement was during the Generation Equality Forum, hosted by the Government of France and co-organised with the Government of Mexico, under the supervision of UN Women. “The international commitment to the award not only confirms the global efforts towards enhancing the status of women but also contributes directly to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly gender balance and equal opportunities,” said the Supreme Council for Women in a statement.
