The National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR) of Bahrain announced launching a complaint system to report violations during the two-month outdoor work ban.
The initiative aims at monitoring outdoor work ban violations during July and August between 12 noon to 4 pm. The monitoring system, established as per the Labour and Social Development Ministry Edict (3) of 2013, came into force three years back.
In a statement, NIHR officials called on all to report noon work ban violations during July and August to its Whatsapp number 17111666 with photographs proving the violation, location, time and place.
NIHR will also receive reports on work ban violations through its toll-free hotline 8000114 and email: complaint@nihr.org.bh. The rights watchdog said the move aims at promoting workers’ rights and support the government’s effort to address abuses at the workplaces in the Kingdom. NIHR called on employers to respect the law, protect workers’ rights, and create a risk-free environment for them.
