Growing Bahrain and US relations praised

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh received US Charge d’affaires Ethan Goldrich and Tina Suleiman, the US Embassy’s political official.
Al Saleh affirmed that the strong historical relations between Bahrain and the US are witnessing development and cooperation in various fields such as military, defence, educational, health, economic sectors, and other vital and important fields.
He praised the depth of these ties that extend for decades, and the keenness of the two leaderships to push those relations towards broader horizons.
The Shura head noted the role played by the US in maintaining the security and stability of the region.
Al Saleh also affirmed the Council’s keenness to enhance cooperation in the field of legislative work in a way that supports bilateral interests, and contribute to supporting various issues of common interest in international parliamentary forums, wishing the US and its people further progress and prosperity.
Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal also received yesterday the American Charge d’affaires.
She affirmed that the Kingdom has preserved its position in the first category for the fourth year in a row in the field of combating trafficking in persons, according to the annual report issued by the US State Department, which comes as a continuation of the firm approach for the Kingdom in promoting a culture of human rights, and spreading the values and principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, in light of the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
