Bahrain Chapter of ICAI celebrates Chartered Accountants Day

The Bahrain Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (BCICAI) celebrated the 73rd Chartered Accountants Day which falls on 1 July each year with a series of activities which also combined the India@75 celebrations spearheaded by the Indian Embassy.

The celebrations kicked off with a celebration organised by all the ICAI Chapters in the GCC on 1 July which featured veteran poet and author Padma Shri Surendra Sharma and famous poet Dr Sita Sagar.

This was followed by a tree planting which was done on 2 July in the Bahrain Indian School premises and attended by the School Director, Himanshu Verma.

This was followed by a unique CABF Padayatra which encouraged members to walk commemorating the India@75 celebration and also raise awareness about the CA Benevolent Fund.

The celebrations were rounded off with a CA Day celebration held on 3 July where the Indian Ambassador to Bahrain H.E. Piyush Srivastava was the chief guest and ICAI Vice President CA (Dr) Debashis Mitra was the guest of honour.

CA Ajay Kumar Chettuvetty, Chairperson of Bahrain Chapter of ICAI, delivered the welcome address.

The celebrations were followed by a quiz on International Financial Reporting Standards by CA Mahesh Balasubramaniam, Partner of KPMG Bahrain.

The BCICAI also recognised the efforts of three of its members with BCICAI Ambassador Awards.

The winners were CA Raunaq Desai (Sports & Well-being), CA Jonathan D’Souza (Environment Protection) and CA Vinod Rathi (Community support).
