American singer Memmel to perform at Bahrain's Summer Festival

The 13th Bahrain Summer Festival will present a concert by American artist, singer and songwriter Tony Memmel at 5 pm today on its YouTube channel.

Though he was born with one hand, Memmel taught himself to play the guitar by building a special cast that he designed out of Gorilla Tape. The event comes in cooperation with the US Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This year’s edition of the festival coincides with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) programme entitled “Pearl’s Path”, which is being held between July 1 and 31.

It includes a rich and varied cultural programme of events and activities that suit different ages and tastes. The events range from theatrical, musical and artistic performances, in addition to workshops, cooking shows and entertainment, as well as the Nakhool Star Competition.
