Works minister reviews the works of Malikiyah port, Karzakan port, Karzakan coast project

The needs of people get prime priority when the government devices plans and programmes for the service sector, said the Ministry of Works.

Essam Khalaf said the management of the service sector is based primarily on understanding the needs of the citizens and translating them into work programmes.

The Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning was visiting the 12th constituency in Northern Governorate with Representative Mahmoud Al-Bahrani, Municipal Councilor Zeinab Al Derazi, Undersecretary for Agriculture Dr Nabeel Mohammed Abul Fateh and Undersecretary for Works Affairs Ahmed AlKhayyat.

Also present were Assistant Undersecretary for Construction and Maintenance Projects, Shaikh Mishal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and Northern Municipality Director-General Lamia Al Fadhala.

The minister reviewed the most important projects the ministry implements in the region, especially the Malikiyah port, the Karzakan port, the Karzakan coast project and the road leading to the Karzakan coast. Khalaf said the Karzakan port project coming up on a land area of 4,400 square meters and a construction area of 513 square meters would offer shades for fishermen, a new slipway for boats, 50 parking lots for vehicles, 12 boat parking spots and other facilities.

Al-Malikiyah port, the minister said, will have a construction area of 513 square meters and a land area of 4720 square meters.

Shaded areas for fishermen, a new slipway for boats, 34 car parks, 14 boat parking lots, an administrative building, fish market and public facilities are part of the project.

Khalaf said the project calls for removing all obstacles that may hinder fishermen from practising their profession by ensuring trouble-free access to the port. Completion next year The minister further revealed that the two projects are expecting completion by April 2022.

 The minister also said that authorities are pressing ahead with the Karzakan Coast Project in Complex 1027 on a land area of 9,235 meters.

The project will have a 250-meter long walkway, games, service building, and coast development works.

 “The project is part of an initiative to enhance marine beaches for citizens and residents.”

Minister Essam Khalaf also reviewed a project to construct a road serving the coast of Karzakan.

The minister said that designs are ready, and work is underway to put the project for tender.

MP Mahmoud Makki Al-Bahrani said the western part of the Northern Governorate would witness a series of infrastructure projects in the coming period.

The Karzakan project, he said, is one of the most projects in the region and is expected to support low-income people.

A member of the Municipal Council of the Northern Governorate, representative of the eighteenth constituency, Zainab Al-Darazi, thanked the minister and officials for the projects completed within the 2021-2022 budget.

 “We are working as a team to serve the country.

We will realise all the projects that everyone is waiting for and listed on the ministry scheduled on time,” Al-Darazi said, adding, “the region will witness more service projects in the coming period.”
