The General Administration of Civil Aviation in Kuwait yesterday rejected as “inaccurate” the claims of a fire on the Gulf Air jet. In its response, Kuwait Civil Aviation officials made clear that there was no fire on the plane.
“Concerned authorities managed the incident following emergency protocols,” the statement said. The statement further said that the authorities are investigating the incident as per international safety procedures and regulations.
Gulf Air had said that flight GF215 from Bahrain to Kuwait was involved in a minor incident during landing at Kuwait International Airport.
Gulf Air also confirmed that all 62 passengers and seven crew members are safely evacuated and escorted into the airport terminal building. Gulf Air further said that it was working with the relevant authorities to identify the cause of the incident.
