The Filipino Creatives Bahrain art group, under the auspices of the Philippine Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain, presented a visual arts and literary exhibit about Philippine cultural heritage. The exhibit at the Harbour Gate, Bahrain Financial Harbour was opened on July 10 and will run until July 23.

Philippine Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver was guest of honour along with other members of the diplomatic corps and VIPs. This is the fourth grand exhibit of FilCreatives Bahrain.

The art group started organising art exhibit in 2018, and debuted with “Bahrain Through Our Eyes”, which was also held at West Atrium Art Gallery, Harbour Gate, Bahrain Financial Harbour. It was followed by “Ma Art’e” art exhibit at Oasis Mall in 2019. Last December, despite the pandemic, the group presented “Crosscurrent: A Fusion of Art and Culture”, a collaboration with Bahrainis and Bahrain-based international artists which was also held at the Harbour Gate, Bahrain Financial Harbour.

This year, the group aims to share the Philippine cultural heritage to the people in Bahrain, the country they consider as second home. Filcreatives collaborated with the Filipino writers and came up with one exhibit, “Iba’t-Ibang Kulay at Hugis ng Kasaysayan”, with English translation, History in Myriad Colors and Forms.

The art exhibit consisted of 42 artists, 10 writers and two photographers. Literary pieces and different kinds of artworks like paintings, sculpture, photography and film are on display. The art group invites everyone to see the exhibit at the Harbour Gate and hope that through their arts, people will get closer and be inspired in spite of our current situation.
