Abduction: Closing arguments on Nov 1
Closing arguments will be heard on November 1 in the trial of three persons accused of kidnapping two Bahraini nationals.
The accused, aged 27,29 and 40, abducted the duo following a dispute on an illegal drug deal, according to court files.
One of the victims allegedly pocketed BD2200 paid by one of the accused for a large quantity of hashish from him.
The victim allegedly delayed handing over the drugs, prompting the trio to abduct him, and a friend who was with him at the time of the incident.
The duo were kept in a stable in Sanad for a night, where were put along with a surly dog.
"They told me if I want to go home, I have to contact one of my relatives and arrange to return the money," the victim involved in the drug deal told prosecutors.
"I contacted my brother and they asked him to meet them near Sitra Mall to handover the money," he added.
The brother reported the incident to police, who planned an ambush to arrest the alleged captors while receiving the money.
However, the trio reportedly didn't show up because 'they felt' that they were being surveyed by police.
They were eventually nabbed after the alleged victims were released, who informed police about the accused’s whereabouts, according to court files.
