Virtual Jagannath Rath Yatra celebrations successful

Under the patronage of the Embassy of India in the Kingdom, Bahrain Odia Samaj (BOS) organised virtual Jagannath Rath Yatra celebrations and cultural events as part of India @ 75 on 16 July. Shri Naveen Patnaik Ji, Honorable CM of Odisha, and Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji, Honorable Union Education Minister, extended their greetings and warm wishes to Odias residing in Bahrain on the auspicious event of Jagannath Rath Yatra. Ambassador of India to Bahrain Shri Piyush Srivastava graced the event as Chief Guest.
Ambassador Srivastava conveyed greetings to the entire Odia communities on this occasion. A spectacular Jagannath bhajan was played by renowned Odia Bhajan singer Smt. Gita Dash graced the event as Distinguished Guest. BOS family members along with democratically elected Executive committee members participated in the event.
Team BOS displayed various cultural activities virtually namely, Lighting of the lamp, Jay Shri Radha Madhava singing by BOS kids, Bhajan singing by BOS Gentlemen and Odissi dance display by BOS Ladies.
Families of various Indian communities in Bahrain and Odias settled in various GCC countries also joined in virtual Rath Yatra celebrations. Speaking on the occasion BOS President Shri Dinesh Mahanty and General Secretary Susmita Rout thanked Ambassador Srivastava for his support extended to BOS and sparing his valuable time to attend virtual Rath Yatra celebrations.
BOS Executive Committee members thanked event organisers for conducting virtual events flawlessly and wished everyone healthy and happy life with the blessings of the Mahaprabhu Jagannath.
