Works of Ain Al Haninya and Mohammed bin Faris Parks are ongoing and moving on as scheduled at a cost exceeding BD 2 million, said Works Minister. Essam Khalaf, the Minister of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, said the projects are in the fifth district of the Southern Governorate.
Works are as per the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to improve municipal services to fulfil the comprehensive development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The project, the minister said, aims at rehabilitating the park in complex 927 in East Riffa by constructing a football field, rest areas, walkways, game spaces for children, installing sports equipment, creating a cafe kiosk, gymnasium and service buildings.
The ministry awarded the project, having an area of 10240.3 square meters, for BD483,948. Park development, Khalaf said, would take eight months and is scheduled to complete in the fourth quarter of this year.
Ain Al Haninia development project is on 7,000 square meters of area and costs around 521,789 Bahrani dinars.
Walkways through the garden, private family spaces, an amphitheatre, and an upper platform overlooking the green areas are part of the project. The park will have various types of fruit and ornamental trees. Works for the project, the minister said, started this month.
“Contractors had started ground preparation works and had started cleaning the rubbles and weeds at the site.”
Khalaf said the Ain Al Haninia project would get finished during the first quarter of next year.
“We are expecting to complete the project in eight months,” Essam Khalaf, the minister said.
