The Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved a new educational achievement as two students, Zain Khaled and Retaj Osama from Zenobia Preparatory School for Girls, won second place at the Arab level for the intermediate stage in the Shaikha Fadia Al Saad Al Sabah competition “Innovating Kuwait” in its last session for the academic year 2020/2021.

This victory came from a project entitled “Medical Helper Robot”. It is a robot that provides medical staff services such as measuring temperature, heart rate, oxygen rate, sterilising hands, and exercising the role of a volunteer to serve the country and citizens and help the medical frontliners confront the coronavirus (COVID-19).

The robot can also talk in several languages. This comes as a result of the efforts of the Ministry of Education to keep abreast with educational developments and encourage the use of technology and artificial intelligence techniques in schools, as well as the production of robotic curricula in different school stages.
