The High Criminal Court has begun hearing the case of two Bahrainis who forged PCR test in order to enter Saudi Arabia through King Fahad Causeway.
The duo decided to travel to the neighbouring GCC state but thought of using fake PCR tests to avoid being sent back. However, their examination certificates were discovered by the Saudi authorities that they were counterfeit.
As a result, the Saudi officials contacted their Bahraini counterparts, and a police patrol was sent to arrest the two men. According to court files, one of the defendants was accustomed to travel to Saudi Arabia to sell sweets.
After re-opening the Causeway, he wasn’t aware that he needed to conduct a PCR test 72 hours prior to entering Saudi. His co-defendant got implicated in the case because he knew that the first defendant’s test was modified
