HM King’s care for ‘health warriors’

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s royal directive to create the Prince Salman bin Hamad Medal for Medical Merit has received praise in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The creation of the prestigious medal is in recognition of the efforts of doctors, nurses, medical staff, and support staff, as well as front-line health workers who have sacrificed their lives while performing their duties.

The medal represents HM the King’s continued support on the relentless efforts of Bahraini front-line health workers and support staff, who have confronted the challenges presented by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with courage.

On Sunday, the Cabinet, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, approved the medal’s creation.

 Appreciation for great efforts Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh said that the medal represents the appreciation of HM the King for the great efforts of medical personnel and their efforts to address the pandemic.

 Al Saleh expressed her appreciation for the follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and his leadership of Team Bahrain to address the pandemic that was the reason for moving forward steadily in limiting the cases and reducing its repercussions.

She also stressed that the medical staff’s efforts will continue regardless of the challenges, to overcome the current health conditions with determination, by continuing to adhere to the precautionary measures to achieve the desired goal in preserving the health and safety of all.

Gratitude for royal gesture The Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President, Lieutenant-General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, expressed his gratitude for HM the King, the first supporter for all workers in the medical sector for this gesture and the efforts of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Dr Shaikh Mohammed conveyed the medical worker's pride in HM’s appreciation, especially in the most difficult circumstances, where HM’s support was the main motivator for Team Bahrain and all supporting bodies to exert maximum energies of readiness in combating the spread of the virus.

Unwavering support for frontliners Chairman of the Standing Committee for Human Rights and member of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee at the Representatives Council, MP Ammar Al Bannai, lauded HM the King’s unwavering support for frontline workers in their fight against the coronavirus, which reflects the royal fatherly care for the Bahraini citizens and appreciation of their dedication in serving their country.

He added that HM the King had created the prestigious medal in recognition of the great sacrifices made by Bahraini medical and nursing staff over the past period, especially the medical competencies who lost their lives while preserving the security and safety of the kingdom.
