The Public Prosecution urged the High Criminal Court to level the maximum punishment against two college students and an 18-year-old boy, all of whom are charged with kidnapping a 13-year-old boy. The trio is said to have abducted the child because he beat one of the defendants’ brothers while playing football.

The incident was captured by an unknown person’s phone lens and the video went viral across social media platforms, following which the three were arrested and put on trial.

Their lawyers pleaded for the judges to cover them with clemency so they “don’t lose their future”. “The defendants made a mistake because they obviously broke the law. But they are too young to understand the gravity of their attacks.

Their history didn’t include any crime. The incident can be considered only a children’s game,” the lawyer said, adding: “They resorted to this act because the victim repeatedly assaulted one of the defendants’ children.”

The suspects forcefully dragged the victim into their car after physically and verbally insulting him.

They were charged with kidnapping and attacking the victim physically and mentally.
