Bahrain and Israel sign deal to develop scientific cooperation

Bahrain Centre for Strategic and International Studies and Energy (DERASAT) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs to consolidate cooperation in the field of scientific research, events and activities, in addition to exchanging information and publications.

DERASAT Board of Trustees’ Chairman Dr Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs President Ambassador Dore Gold attended the signing ceremony.

The deal was signed by DERASAT Executive Director Dr Hamad Ibrahim Al Abdalla and Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs President Ambassador Dore Gold. Dr Al Abdalla said that the deal is one of the fruits of the Abraham Accords, stressing joint keenness to develop research and scientific cooperation as well as concerted efforts between research institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel.

He commended the active role and valuable contributions of the Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs which enhanced its regional and international standing, stressing the importance of strategic partnership to confront challenges.

Ambassador Gold expressed delight at cooperating with DERASAT, which enjoys a regional standing, adding that the agreement would lay a platform for cooperation between the two centres to engage soon in joint activities. He praised DERASAT for its keenness to expand its network of partnerships to develop scientific research.

The memorandum of understanding aims to expand prospects of cooperation between both centres regarding the issues of regional security, international cooperation, in addition to all challenges facing the region.
