Bahrain's success in renewable and energy efficiency highlighted

Sustainable Energy Authority (SPA) President Dr Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza has highlighted the landmark achievements attained by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the fields of renewable energy and energy efficiency despite the challenges imposed by the coronavirus (COVID-19). Dr Mirza said that SEA’s achievements, aimed at diversifying the national economy, are the outcome of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s unlimited support.
He also paid tribute to Team Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for their successful efforts to combat the pandemic.
This came as Dr Mirza received the Second Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, MP Ali Ahmed Zayed. He praised MP Zayed’s contributions to the citizens of the Southern Governorate’s fourth constituency, and the Representatives Council, in addition to his interest in the concerns of the citizens, and keenness to ensure that the best services are provided for them.
Dr Mirza also hailed his keenness to consolidate the concept of sustainable energy through his key role in the legislative branch. He shed light on SEA’s main initiatives and projects to achieve Bahrain’s regional and international obligations regarding the sustainability of energy resources and the global efforts to address the impact of climate change, lauding the crucial role played by lawmakers in honouring such obligations.
MP Zayed reviewed the possibilities of availing of renewable energy at public facilities and service establishments in his constituency. He commended the efforts being exerted by SEA President and officials to boost the sustainable energy sector in the Kingdom.
