Plans are underway for the Bahrain Airport Services (BAS) to employ more Bahraini citizens, as well as its programmes to train and develop them, which will contribute to increasing its productivity and competitive potentials.

This came as Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan received BAS Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Khalil Ahmed, along with former CEO, Salman Saleh Al Mahmeed.

They also reviewed the progress of the implementation of the second National Employment Programme, and the role of national companies and institutions in ensuring its success, through integrating national job-seekers in the labour market.

In this regard, Minister Humaidan affirmed that investment in the national human resources is the best policy, given their professional discipline and keenness to attain more achievements for the establishments in which they are working, lauding the plans of BAS to recruit more nationals.

The Minister praised the efforts exerted by the former BAS CEO to improve the company’s performance, wishing the new CEO every success. Ahmed praised the Minister’s confidence in the company, affirming that the employment of the national cadres policy at BAS will continue.

He also lauded the training programmes provided by the Labour Ministry, in coordination with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) to provide the labour market with qualified workers who are capable of increasing productivity in the economic sectors.
