Works to develop phase one of the Complex 245 roads in Arad has reached a 22 per cent completion rate. The Director of Roads Projects and Maintenance Department at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Eng. Sayed Badr Alawi, said the project is proceeding according to the time plan and it is expected to be completed during the first quarter of next year.

The first phase of the road development in Block 245 in Arad includes civil and asphalt works for paving and re-paving roads and lanes, constructing a rainwater drainage network, sidewalks and car parks, as well as providing traffic safety requirements and establishing ground channels.

Eng. Alawi noted that the project is included in the Ministry’s programme to develop infrastructure and improve services provided to citizens and residents. The Ministry pays great attention to the road network in the various governorates of the Kingdom to achieve the objectives of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and meet the needs of citizens and residents for the smooth flow of traffic and traffic safety. The project was awarded by the Tender Board to Messrs. Al Jahrami Contracting Company at a cost of BD714,999.

The municipal member and representative of the seventh district in Muharraq Governorate, Ahmed Al Maqhawi confirmed that the project will contribute to solving the problem of rainwater gatherings, and the areas in the area will be used to provide parking spaces for the residents of the complex, which will solve many problems in light of the growing population in the area.

Al Maqhwi thanked the Ministry of Works for the remarkable efforts in the road network in the Kingdom in general and Muharraq in particular, pointing out that it is working to achieve the desires of citizens according to the available capabilities that are transmitted by the Municipal Council.
