The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) now offers online services to Filipinos who reside outside the Philippines.

According to COMELEC Resolution No. 10709, overseas applicants with existing voting records and registered overseas voters can now avail of the following Virtual Frontline Services:

• Registration or Certification – as overseas voter filed by those with existing voting records

• Reactivation of Overseas Voter Registration Records

• Updating of addresses and contact information

• Transfer of voting records between different international locations and from overseas to the PH OFOV’s online services only fit applications that don’t require live capture of the registrants’ biometric data.

The OFOV says that Filipinos can avail of their services “without leaving the safety of your home or office.” Applicants may book an appointment via Facebook DM or email to set a video call appointment.

The application forms for voters abroad are the OVF1 and the revised CEF1. Every applicant must fill up the first one, while those who are transferring their registration from overseas to the Philippines need to accomplish both.

First-time registrants may use the iRehistro platform to fill up the OVF1 forms virtually. However, biometrics capturing and oath-taking will need to be done in person. Applicants may book their appointments through the website as well.

The poll body strives to gather about 3 million overseas voters to register for the upcoming elections. Meanwhile, those who live in the country may opt to vote through the mobile app or follow this straightforward guide.
