The establishment of the Correctional Justice Courts for Children’s headquarters has been completed.

This was announced by the Assistant Undersecretary for Courts and Documentation Affairs at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Muhammad Abdul Rahim Bujairi.

It is in preparation for the implementation of the Children’s Restorative Justice Law which takes effect on August 18.

Bujairi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning for the completion of this project.

The design of the headquarters takes into account the provision of privacy required for this type of case to suit the situation of the child, the most important of which is the psychological and social aspects.

It is following the best engineering specifications in a manner appropriate to the circumstances and for the conduct of legal cases related to children.

Bujairi also thanked the Supreme Judicial Council and the Public Prosecution for their role in the implementation of this project.

He pointed out that the children’s correctional justice courts are separated from other courts to give them more privacy during the performance of their tasks and the presence of children and their families.

Bujairi stressed the importance of the Children’s Restorative Justice Law and its protection from ill-treatment, which is one of the fruits of the reformist approach of His Majesty the King, and a qualitative addition to the modern criminal legislation approved by the Kingdom of Bahrain, following relevant international principles and standards, especially the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
