Enhancing Bahrain-India trade and investment cooperation

The Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society (BBS) in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Council for Promotion of Trade and Industry (CPTI) in India signed a memorandum of understanding to promote mutual trade and investment and enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
BBS President Ahlam Yusif Janahi and CPTI Chairman Dr Udit Raj signed the MOU in the presence of Dr Gaurav Grover, Founder Member of CPTI, Palka Grover, President, India Luxury Foundation, Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Qaud, Kingdom of Bahrain Ambassador to India, Piyush Srivastva, India Ambassador to Bahrain, Ravi Kumar Jain, the Second Secretary (Com) and Head of Chancery-Commercial attache of the India Embassy to Bahrain, BBS Board Members and other important dignitaries.
Due to COVID -19 pandemic, these occasions are being organised virtually and it is a special moment of pride and honour for both business councils.
The purpose of the MoU is to establish a practical framework of cooperation between the two councils for advancing the role of the two organisations in developing entrepreneurship skills and professionalism in various fields of business, in accordance with the national laws and regulations for the accomplishment of the objectives of both councils.
The MoU is another milestone in the ever-increasing cooperation between the two nations. Bahrain Businesswomen’s Society was founded in 2000 with the aim of nurturing the expanding role of Bahraini women and promoting women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship in local, regional, and international commercial and economic activities and CPTI (India) is an association of businesses person, philanthropists, intellectuals and cultural personalities.
The objective of CPTI (India) is to promote bilateral trade and business relationships. Both organisations have mutually expressed the importance and shares and exchanges professional and entrepreneurial expertise, encourage and facilitate cooperation for women empowerment to achieve mutually shared economic objectives and organise joint research programs on boosting entrepreneurship to contribute to the national economic development.
Janahi said: “We are celebrating 21st anniversary as first GCC businesswomen civil society, and we are looking forward to having partnership and business between both organisations.”
