Municipal fees were reduced for 452 tenant Bahraini families during the months of May, June and July, following directives from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Essam bin Abdulla Khalaf said that fees were scrapped for one Bahraini tenant family while two others were exempted from paying the fees over the past three months.
“The move is in line with the royal desire of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to ensure that all citizens live in decent conditions,” said the Minister, stressing keenness on enhancing Bahrainis’ living standards.
He highlighted continued coordination between the Municipalities Affairs and the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Customer Services Directorate to readjust the utility bills for these families.
