The exhibition opened its doors in mid-July under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

It is organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) at the Bahrain National Theatre. The exhibition is open daily, except on Tuesdays, from 10am until 7pm.

At its opening, the exhibition announced the winners of awards. This year, Maryam Al Nuaimi won the first Al Dana award, while Ahmed Annan won the second prize, and Jumana Al Qassab the third prize.

As part of the exhibition’s activity, BACA launched the Audience Award, which is the fourth prize for the exhibition. It will be won by the artist who receives the largest number of visitors’ votes, which the Authority announces at the end of the exhibition.

Voting for the preferred artwork can be done through the special platform located in the exhibition hall at the Bahrain National Theatre. On the sidelines of the event, BACA inaugurated an exhibition entitled “Khalifa bin Salman – A Renewed Presence of Love for the Years: 1972-2020” dedicated to His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

The late HRH the Prime Minister has sponsored continuously until last year the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition since its inception in 1972.
