57% of people in Bahrain took Sinopharm

Fifty-seven percentage or 569,054 of the citizens and residents in Bahrain took China’s Sinopharm vaccine to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, said a new study.
The study by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic also said 996,403 people in Bahrain had two doses of vaccines between December 9, 2020 and July 17, 2021.
Nineteen per cent of the population, or 184,526 people, opted for the Sputnik vaccine, while 17% or 169,058 people took Pfizer jabs. The remaining 7%, or 73,765 people, received the AstraZeneca vaccine, the study said.
The study also showed that 88% of the deaths related to the COVID-19 virus are among non-vaccinated people. Among the casualties, 11.4% or 112 people who lost their lives had Sinopharm jabs.
Six people who took Pfizer and Sputnik vaccines also lost their lives. Only one person succumbed to the virus after taking the AstraZeneca-Covishield vaccine.
