Two rioters sentenced for assaulting boys

Two defendants have been sentenced to 15 months in prison each for assaulting two boys. The defendants attacked the boys, who reportedly tried to remove road blockades set up by rioters. The accused is said to be taking part in the riot.

The victims told the police officers earlier that they were on their way to the mosque to pray, but the road was closed by stones and concrete blocks placed by vandals.

They were reportedly assaulted by 30 masked miscreants. But the boys managed to identify only two of them.

According to the court documents, the first defendant is a relative of the second victim, thus the latter managed to identify him.

The second defendant was living in the same area, where the two victims also residing. This helped the victims to identify him.

The court said in its ruling that the defendants’ links to the incident was beyond doubt after one of them confirmed during interrogation his participation in the riot with the other defendant.
