The time has come up for differently-abled students to get back to their classes in the Kingdom. The vocational rehabilitation centres in the Kingdom will reopen this Sunday. “Preparations are in full swing to welcome back 109 students with physical disabilities for in-person classes,” said Jameel Humaidan, the Labour and Social Development Minister.

The ministry, he said, is stepping up efforts to implement mandatory preventive measures at the ministry-run centres and institutions, as per the COVID-19 Alert Traffic Light System.

The ministry-run centres and institutions include Child Daycare Centre, NBB Rehabilitation Centre, BBK Rehabilitation Centre and Shaikhan Al Farsi Centre for Total Communication.

Parents are allowed to choose either in-person classes or remote learning for their kids, taking into account the capacity of the centres. Health care and treatments, psychological care, and social welfare of the students are taken care of at these centres. All of the governments schools in the Kingdom had reopened on Tuesday for the new 2021-’22 academic year. Following the reopening, Dr Majid bin Al Nuaimi, the Education Minister, also announced recording 81% attendance.
