The Lower Criminal Court sentenced two Asian men to six months each behind bars for failing to rescue their friend who was drowning at a swimming pool in Sar.
According to court files, the suspects gave no valid reason for their inaction.
The three engaged in binge drinking at the pool, during which the victim requested the two suspects to record him while he was swimming.
However, he never came out from the pool to the surprise of the two who reportedly waited for him for three minutes while he was waving his hands for help.
Based on the autopsy report, the defendant’s death was caused by poor blood circulation and respiratory depression.
It showed that the defendant consumed a large amount of alcohol to the level that he suffered mental confusion.
