Qatar-backed Al-Jazeera’s incitement campaign against Bahrain condemned

Qatar-backed Al Jazeera’s adamant defamatory campaigns targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain were strong condemned.
The Human Rights Standing Committee at the Council of Representatives denounced the channel which continues to allege that inmates had been tortured and denied family visits.
Chaired by Mp Ammar Al Bannai, the committee condemned Al Jazeera’s campaigns of incitement aimed to serve suspicious foreign agendas and tarnish Bahrain’s human rights record, particularly the expanded alternative sentencing, which won regional and international praise.
The committee backed the Interior Ministry’s statement which debunked Al Jazeera’s baseless allegations and blatant interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain in an attempt to subvert national unity, social cohesion and disrupt security and stability.
The committee reiterated the council’s continued support of the issuances of laws and legislations that guarantee the protection of human rights and expand alternative sentencing and measures.
