Poems in Little Desires recount Bahraini writer's family, love, childhood memories

She started with a collection of poems "Things to Serve a Cause" in 2011.

In 2014, Ranwa Al Amsi’s first novel "The Visit” was published after taking part in Najwa Barakat professional writing contest in 2013. The Visit was shortlisted among the top ten entries out of the 200 novels that competed.

Ten years after her literary debut, the Bahraini poet, novelist and cultural media professional has now published her second collection of poems "Little Desires".

The 24 poems in the anthology recount memories of love, family, childhood and travel. The themes are adroitly linked by a sentimental thread and reinforced by the poet's mood.

Ranwa has been very active in both youth and cultural fields, building on her academic and fine arts background to promote cultural exchanges as magnificent steps towards greater passion and humanity across the world.

She has also designed and conducted numerous cultural events and activities and participated in many fine arts exhibitions.

Ranwa has contributed several articles to print and online magazines and newspapers and participated in forums that brought together literary figures from diverse backgrounds.

She is currently working on her Master's Degree in Middle Eastern Studies at Leiden University, Netherlands.

In parallel, she is a cultural program maker at Stichting Perdu in Amsterdam since 2020.
