Bahrain and Israel foreign ministers hold talks on expanding ties

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, yesterday stressed Bahrain’s keenness to develop bilateral ties with Israel during a meeting with Yair Lapid, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel.
Boosting ties, the minister told Lapid, is essential to achieve the common interest as per the Declaration of Support for Peace signed by the two countries. Israeli Foreign Minister expressed his happiness in visiting Bahrain, stressing the importance of joint work to strengthen bilateral ties.
He also expressed the keenness of Israel to developing bilateral cooperation with Bahrain in various fields. The ministers also discussed political and security developments in the region, challenges and issues of common concern at the regional and international levels.
They also agreed to prepare a joint action plan to determine priorities and follow up on advancing ties. Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to Israel Khalid Yousef Al Jalahma, the Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of Israel to Bahrain and senior foreign ministry officials of both countries, were present.
