GCC-STAT organises workshop on GSBPM in Bahrain

The Gulf Cooperation Council Statistical Center (GCC-STAT) in cooperation with the Arabian Institute for Training and Statistical Research is holding a four-day workshop on GSBPM in Bahrain from May 18 to May 21. 

The workshop aims to bringing together specialists from GCC countries to discuss the concepts of statistics and to view GSBPM in terms of the structure and features.

It will also introduce the advantages of implementing this methodology in the process of official statistics production and raising its quality and efficiency.

Participants were introduced to the GSBPM model, which consists of nine phases starting from the evaluation of the user's needs to statistical information dissemination.

It is noticed that the planning process takes place during the first three phases (identification of requirements, design and construction), while the following five phases are concerned with the production of statistical figures (collection, processing, analysis, publishing, and archiving) along with phase 9 (evaluation).

The workshop aims to benefit all staff who work on the collection and dissemination of statistics and official data at the national statistical centers in GCC countries.
