Bilad Al Qadim housing project nears completion

The Bilad Al Qadim housing project is in the final stages, with the completion of about 97pc works. Informing the latest status of the project, Minister of Housing Basim Alhamer said the project was within the framework of the Ministry’s comprehensive plan to meet the housing needs of those in the waiting lists in the Capital Governorate.

The housing units’ keys will be delivered to its beneficiaries after the completion of all construction and infrastructure works. The housing units are already allocated to beneficiaries according to seniority, which covered the old applications in Capital Governorate.

“Priority in the distribution is given to the old applications from country’s citizens and to those in the surrounding areas,” Alhamer said.

He explained that Bilad Al Qadim housing project contained 144 housing units with facilities that provide all kinds of comfort to citizens such as open areas, shops and a mosque.

Built on 5.76 hectares, the housing units are designed to suit the Bahraini family’s needs and the project is compatible with the Bahrain 2030 Economic Vision to reduce the waiting lists by providing all the necessary supplies for the family.

The project consists of type T8 houses, with specially designed facades to suit the traditional Bahraini style. The windows and other elements of the interfaces follow traditional design pattern. 

The Minister added that the Ministry was keen to follow up all the projects that are being implemented to the needs of the citizens and provide the best housing services to them.
