Today is the last day for Filipinos in the Kingdom of Bahrain to register for overseas voting.

The Philippine Embassy is calling on Filipinos who would like to vote for the May 2022 Philippine national elections to visit its premises in Mahooz.

Personal appearance at the embassy is required for registration.

Details or biometrics will be captured and those who want to register must bring along a photocopy of valid passport.

For seafarers, seaman’s book is required aside from a copy of the Philippine passport.

The embassy is urging eligible Filipino voters to come forward and exercise their right and duty to choose future leaders before overseas voting registration comes to a close.

The next Philippine general elections – set to take place on May 9, 2022 – will select the successor of current President Rodrigo Duterte, as well as the next vice-president, 12 senators and a party-list representative.

Overseas voters may cast their votes at the embassy from April 10 to May 9 next year.

Those interested in the overseas voting registration should contact the embassy for details on how to proceed.

More details can also be found on the embassy’s official website: https://manamape.dfa. gov.ph/ Meanwhile, the embassy has stressed the importance of strictly following safety precautions and health protocols against the coronavirus (COVID-19) within its premises.

It constantly advises Filipinos who will come to the embassy to wear face mask, observe social distancing, avoid large crowds, and get vaccinated to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
