Minister honours Bahrain health warriors

Forty-one members of the national health committees were honoured yesterday by the Health Ministry in appreciation of their dedication and contribution to achieving their goals.

The national health committees include representatives of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Ministry of Information Affairs, Supreme Council for the Environment, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Royal Medical Services (Bahrain Defence Force Hospital), King Hamad University Hospital, Mohammed Bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa Specialist Cardiac Centre, Bahrain Diabetes Society, Bahrain Cancer Society and Anti-Smoking Society.

Also honoured during a ceremony were the National Committee to Combat Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases, National Committee for Combating Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), National Committee to Control Smoking and All Types of Tobacco and Tobacco Products.

Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh commended the achievements attained by the national health committees thanks to their constant cooperation with the relevant entities at ministries and civil society organisations.

She noted that they are keen to continue launching national initiatives aimed at protecting the health and safety of the citizens and residents, as well as preventing the spread of diseases.
