Bahrain ties with European Parliament boosted

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh yesterday stressed the importance of consolidating bilateral parliamentary cooperation with the European Parliament.
Al Saleh, who received the European Parliament’s delegation for relations with the Arabian Peninsula (DARP) headed by Dr Sven Simon, said it will raise the performance level in support of the democratic process and common interests on an international scale.
DARP members expressed their keenness to develop bilateral relations and exchange expertise to develop the legislative system and support peace, security and stability in the world.
The meeting reviewed the achievements witnessed by Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the efforts made by the legislative and executive branches to achieve desired development.
It also discussed the comprehensive economic development and initiatives launched by the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to reach recovery stage after the pandemic, as well as achieve economic growth, financial balance, and improve the citizens’ lives.
The Shura head affirmed that the Kingdom is proceeding steadily in its democratic, human rights and development path, through national initiatives and plans based on firm principles of tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence among all religions, sects and cultures.
