Artificial Intelligence to develop sports system: HH Shaikh Khalid

Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the General Sports Authority, and in collaboration with Nasser Vocational Training Center and International Group of Artificial Intelligence organised the Bahrain International Conference for Artificial Intelligence in Sport. The event is taking place through virtual technology, featuring 220 participants representing 21 countries.
On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid delivered an opening remark, saying: “It’s our great pleasure for us to participate with you in this Conference which sheds light on one one of the most important modern innovations, which is artificial intelligence and its positive reflections on the development of humanity and societies.
We look forward to seeing this Conference achieve important results and meet the goals which were identified beforehand to harness this field towards serving the sports system in the Kingdom.
“We have been keen to insert artificial intelligence as part of our initiatives which have been designed to translate the instructions of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, to bolster the Kingdom’s role as a pioneer country and a leading state in supporting various programmes that accomplish sustainability and contribute to the growth of all areas of life.”
HH Shaikh Khalid added: “The accelerated pace we are witnessing across the world in the use of this technology mirrors the great results of this scientific revolution in many fields.
Today, we are working on executing plans and strategies that aim to take advantage of artificial intelligence and employ it to support the sports industry in the Kingdom.”
HH Shaikh Khalid concluded his remarks by thanking the General Sports Authority for the great efforts it exerted in coordinating with the Nasser Vocational Training Center and International Group of Artificial Intelligence to prepare for holding this event which will have a positive impact on cementing Bahrain’s position as a leading hub for major events.
The event witnessed the attendance of many key personalities, including HE Dr Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, HE Dr Abdullah Al Nuaimi, President of the Nasser Vocational Training Center and HE Dr Jassim Haji, President of the International Group of Artificial Intelligence.
It is worth noting that the Conference discussed the steps being taken by the General Sports Authority to effectively use Artificial Intelligence in developing the administrative and technical works in order to contribute to accomplishing Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
