Ten bus stops to get real-time passenger information systems

Passengers using Public transport buses in the Kingdom will no longer have to wait anxiously at bus stops without knowing when their ride will arrive. The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication is to instal Real-time passenger information systems or RTPI at bus stops in the Kingdom.
Thanks to this, passengers can plan their trip in a more optimal and precise manner and make more informed decisions in case of delays. The system, planned for ten bus stops in the Kingdom, would give passengers better control over their travel time and course.
Passengers at bus stops equipped with RTPI will receive an announcement on the estimated arrival time of buses.
According to atender launched by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication to purchase RTPI, the system will provide real-time arrival & departure of public buses at stops. “It will increase the quality of public transportation services by decreasing the waiting time at bus stops,” the Ministry adds. The tender is for installing RTPI at ten bus stops in the Kingdom. To participate, make bids before the 24th of this month, with a BD500 bond and BD15 tender fees.
