Cabinet approves memorandum on land distibution and compensation

The Cabinet yesterday approved a memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft decision on the rules and provisions for distributing plots of land for planning or re-planning following expropriation and compensation for the owners of real estate located within the boundaries of these projects.

 Several memorandums were also approved such as:

* A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft MoU between the Supreme Council for Environment in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Environment in the Republic of Korea on environmental cooperation, which aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the fields of environmental technology, protection of biodiversity, natural resources and water quality management.

* A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the participation of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities in the World Crafts Council.

The participation will contribute to supporting plans and strategies related to this field and will also support the registration of several Bahraini villages and cities in the World Crafts Council.

* A memorandum by the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding several MoUs with the UAE, which aims further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

* A memorandum by the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding a number MoUs between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Federative Republic of Brazil, which aims to enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields.

* A memorandum by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism regarding the accreditation of the Federative Republic of Brazil as a partner of the International Sea-Air Cargo Services Centre in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In addition to 12 other countries, companies based in these countries are allowed to apply for accreditation as an operator of these services.

* A memorandum by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding the government’s response to a proposal for a law submitted by the Shura Council.
