TEEN SWALLOWS HIS TONGUE IN FOOTBALL MISHAP, CRITICAL;

Only days after a 12-year-old boy lost his life while taking part in a tug-of-war game, another teenager is critically admitted in a hospital after he had a cardiac arrest while practicing sports.

 In a shocking incident, 16- year-old Elias Ali Jawad swallowed his own tongue after a ball hit him on his face during a football game in Sanabis.

 Fortunately, timely interference of a top local cardiothoracic & vascular surgeon gave him a lifeline, DT News learnt. Dr. Habib Al Tareef gave him first aid and revived his heart beat using portable devices. 

 "When the boy collapsed, someone from the spectators immediately contacted Dr. Habib, who resides in the same area," Hussain said. 

 Elias was then taken to BDF Hospital, where he is still fighting for his life at the Intensive Care Unit. He is reportedly in coma since last Saturda

On April 24, DT news reported the death of Hassan Isa Al Muri, who fell unconscious in between a tug-of- war game. He also suffered a cardiac arrest, but owing to the absence of paramedic personnel on the scene, he could not be saved.
