An Interpol-issued warrant led Bahrain police to dismantle a human trafficking gang, the High Criminal Court heard.

According to court files, Bahraini police received a warrant against an Asian woman who was wanted in human-trafficking cases, and her arrest led to the capture of three accomplices who were involved in the same outlawed activity.

As per the records, police officers launched a manhunt against the woman as soon as the warrant arrived, and she was nailed in Juffair.

She was accompanied by a Bahraini man, and she immediately admitted to human trafficking during questioning.

She revealed that she was buying women and forcing them into prostitution.

She revealed that she bought three women for BD130 each from two other women, who also were arrested.

The Bahraini man told prosecutors that he has known the woman for 10 years and he helped her in buying women.

The pair led police officers to an apartment, in which they locked up several women to force them to have paid sex with strangers.
