Korea celebrates 45 years of diplomatic ties with Bahrain with all-women chamber ensemble “Dasrum”

In celebration of 45 years of diplomatic ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea, the all-women chamber ensemble “Dasrum” performed for the first time in Bahrain, amidst adherence to precautionary measures instated by the National Taskforce Combating the COVID-19.

The live concert of Korean traditional music is organised jointly by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bahrain and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), as a part of the Embassy’s programme celebrating 45 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

In his greeting remarks, the Korean Ambassador to Bahrain, His Excellency Hae Kwan Chung, lauded the occasion, thanking BACA for their cooperation and wishing for many anniversaries to be celebrated.

“I hope that this performance not only offers an enchanting introduction of Korean traditional music but also forms a meaningful and soothing consolation for all of us who have gone through a most trying time amidst the pandemic” the Ambassador stated.

The all-women chamber ensemble played several musical pieces from Korean folklore, K-pop and Bahraini folklore, while using Korean traditional music instruments.

Present was Her Excellency Shaikha Hala bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of Culture and Arts, who have given short remarks on the occasion celebrated.

The live concert “Dasrum … Stay Strong” is set to have a final performance today at the Cultural Hall of the National Museum.
