His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa yesterday called on world nations to provide a safe, prosperous and sustainable life for humankind by establishing close cooperation.

The crises have proved that close international cooperation is the way forward,” His Majesty reminded the world leaders by saying, “It should have its basis on firm pillars of communication, solidary and peace.”

“A collective response and effective partnership with modern visions and advanced ideas that suit the present and looking forward to the future is the way for countries to achieve their common goals,” stressed HM the King during the opening of the Paris Peace Forum in a recorded speech.

The Peace Forum was in the presence of French President Emmanuel Macron and heads of state of several countries.

HM King described the fourth edition of the annual Paris Peace Forum as an important platform for exchanging views and ideas for strengthening world peace.

“The forum presents a valuable opportunity to search for solutions to overcome the challenges facing countries today, foremost of which is the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the climate crisis.”

The forum, HM the King said, also enhances international cooperation, especially in science and governance.

Founded in 2018, the non-profit organization aims to boost cordial diplomacy and prevent hostility in the global arena.

HM King further stressed that the global events and crises have proved that close international cooperation is the way to achieve our common goals.

“The countries of the world have an important entitlement to fulfil the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, whose pace of achievement has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic,” said HM the King. King Hamad called on to adopt constructive initiatives to help countries achieve the aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity through the United Nations.

HM the King further pledged Bahrain full cooperation to countries of the world to achieve international peace and security and build a more secure and stable world with justice and equality.

Several high-ranked representatives—including US Vice President Kamala Harris—will attend the meeting.

During the two-day gathering, foreign state delegates and heads of international organizations will attend various workshops and panels where they will have the opportunity to demonstrate concrete resolutions to maintain multilateral peace.
