Good fiscal policies cushion Covid impact: Finance Minister

Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has pointed out that good fiscal policies have contributed to mitigating the economic impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Shaikh Salman chaired the first session of the 6th Arab Fiscal Forum which was organised by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) and held remotely, with the participation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Addressing the session, the minister stressed the importance of consultation regarding economic developments and the fallout of the COVID-19, which took a have a toll on economic sectors.
Arab finance ministers spoke during the session, highlighting efforts to mitigate the repercussions of the pandemic in their countries.
The virtual session was also attended by Arab Central Banks governors, AMF Director-General and Chairman Dr Abdulrahman Al Hamidy and IMF Director-General Kristalina Shaikh Salman during the online discussion Georgieva.
