Policies to aid citizens

His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that the government was developing some strategies and policies to ensure that citizens are the only beneficiaries of its subsidies and services.

HRH Premier said that although the economic and political developments in the region imposed some challenges on the regional development march, the government was strongly determined to go ahead with its development programmes. “Gains and benefits of the citizens will never be part of the solutions to address such challenges,” he stressed.

 He made the statements as he received here yesterday Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, former Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, MPs and Shura Council members.

 HRH the Prime Minister said that cooperation between the executive and legislative branches was essential for attaining landmark achievements that consolidate the kingdom’s leading role at the regional and international arenas.

 He pointed out that partnership between the two branches in the national action march represented the basis of cooperation between them. “Therefore, they are keen to reach consensus on all their future policies, in accordance with the cooperation scope stipulated by the Constitution.”

 HRH Premier praised the key legislative and supervisory role played by the Council of Representatives, reiterating the government’s keenness to support it in assuming its role and respond to all issues raised under its dome.

 “The ultimate goal for the two branches is to achieve the best for the Bahraini citizens,” HRH Premier added.
