HM King hails GCC role for regional, global ‘security, stability and peace’

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has commended the pioneering achievements of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) since its establishment and its active contribution to fostering regional and international security, stability and peace.

HM the King also affirmed Bahrain’s keenness to promote the organisation and consolidate cooperation between the GCC countries to achieve the desired goals.

This came as His Majesty King Hamad, President of the current session of the GCC Supreme Council, received at Safriyah Palace yesterday GCC Secretary-General Dr Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf on the occasion of his visit to the kingdom.

Dr Al Hajraf presented HM the King with a report on the march of the GCC Secretariat General and its efforts to promote the GCC joint work.

His Majesty welcomed Dr Al Hajraf and reviewed with him GCC issues.

He praised the ongoing efforts of the GCC Secretary-General and all affiliates of the Secretariat General to boost cooperation and integration between the member states.

Dr Al Hajraf expressed thanks and gratitude to HM the King for the gracious welcome and directives to promote the GCC march.

He praised Bahrain’s presidency of the current GCC session, lauding the achievements aimed at serving the interests of the GCC member states.
